Stakeholder consultations were an integral part of the POWER Study’s mission to produce reports that are both meaningful and actionable. Using a community-engaged research approach, we actively engaged stakeholders (including representatives of women’s health and community-based organizations; health care and other community service providers; and policy makers) throughout the POWER Study. These stakeholder consultations provided us with critical feedback and advice.
A series of Roundtable discussions allowed us to:
- engage with stakeholders by creating awareness about the POWER Study and its objectives
- provide a forum for discussing how to improve access, quality and outcomes of care for all women of Ontario
- elicit stakeholders’ needs in terms of how the POWER Study can be most useful
- help to set priorities for reporting in specific areas
- develop strategic dissemination strategies and partners
