Dr. Arlene Bierman, Principal Investigator, led an interdisciplinary team of over 60 researchers with relevant content and methodological expertise. The research team’s expertise spaned a number of fields including health services research, medicine, nursing, social sciences and health care policy.
The POWER Study was a collaborative approach. The research team was organized into working groups, based on subject areas of the Report (e.g. cancer, depression). Each working group had its own lead investigator and was assisted by skilled statisticians, analysts, and research coordinators. Supporting the POWER study were an Advisory Council, Technical Expert Panels, and Community Stakeholders representing areas across the province of Ontario.
For more information on the collaborative research model used to produce the POWER Report, see the Introduction chapter.
